Declaration of Independence

One of the most fascinating things Thomas Jefferson did in his lifetime was writing the Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson had to write a rough draft and the final draft. After I finished I teased that nobody would catch me writing a paper again. When I finished the rough draft I thought it was pretty much done. Well I was way wrong. I had to end up making 86 corrections to it. Then I had the whole thing over to make it neater. Well I decided it was all worth the while because people say it’s one of my greatest accomplishments ever. I’m still very proud of it.

  1. Mr Jefferson, I am James Madison the 4th president, I am your predacessor! I had the privelage as well to help write an important document in the Constitution of the United States. I sort of had the same feeling of you that it was a struggle but at the end when it's all said and done it makes you feel like you've accomplished something that will change the world forever! Thank you!

  3. Hello, my name is Franklin D. Roosevelt, 32nd president of the United States. I must say, that is an impresive acomplishment you have there. I myself had to plan the New Deal to get the USA out of the Great Depression. Still, that is nothing compared to your task. Hats off to you!

  4. Hello, my name is James Madison (Zack), the fourth president of the Untied States. Thank you for helping me along the way in my presidency by the way. I was known as the "Father of the Constitution" because I was one of the main writers of it, so I know what writing an important document is like. In the end though, the Declaration of Independence helped us finally stray away from Great Britain. Without the Declaration of Independence, I fear that we might never have become an independent country.
